Highest work threshold in this batch: you must work at least 64 hours for pay under the supervision of a nurse or physician during your 24-month certification period, AND complete 24 hours of approved continuing education. You self-report the 64 hours on the online 64-hour worked renewal form (class z64 in the RELIAS packet) with employer name, supervisor name and hire date, and pay a $25 renewal fee through RELIAS. Delaware Code allows renewal up to 30 days past expiration with a $25 penalty fee plus proof of CE.

Within 30 days after expiration: late renewal is still possible under 16 Del.C. by paying the $25 penalty fee with the application and proof of CE for the prior period. After that, or if you missed the 64-hour work or 24-hour CE requirements, you are lapsed - see retest route. No separate time cap on the retest route was stated by DHCQ.
Retest-only: contact Prometric (1-866-664-9504) and pass both the written and clinical skills exams again (test option 3), $115 fee, with proof of past Delaware certification (Lapsed Nurse Aide route). Failing 3 times means retraining before you can test again.
TRAINING-HOUR CONFLICT on primary pages: the current DHCQ CNA Registry page (2022 Department Order) states a minimum of 91 clock hours (75 classroom including lab + 16 clinical), while the older DHCQ FAQ still states 150 hours equally divided. This file uses 91 from the current registry page - flag for re-verification before launch. Also: Delaware keeps a SEPARATE Adult Abuse Registry - a clean CNA registry record alone does not prove no finding.

Reciprocity (Route 6 on the DHCQ page): active CNA in good standing (Maryland applicants must hold a GNA), training meeting or exceeding federal requirements (42 CFR 483.152), and within the last 24 months EITHER 3 months of full-time experience equal to 420 clock hours of paid CNA work under a nurse or physician OR a training program at least equal to Delaware's required hours. Reciprocity fee $30 cited in the DHCQ reciprocity application materials / secondary compilations. Work-history requirement: 420 hours (3 months full-time) of paid CNA work in the last 24 months, unless your training hours alone meet the Delaware-equivalence alternative.. TRAP: out-of-state CNAs WITHOUT the 420 hours are not denied - they fall to Route 4 on the DHCQ page and may take the Delaware exam without completing a Delaware training program. With the 420 hours, reciprocity is placed directly with no exam.
